L’Arc~en~Ciel

L’Arc~en~Ciel es uno de los grupos de rock japonés más conocidos tanto dentro como fuera de Japón.

La banda fue formada por Tetsu en Osaka, Japón en 1991, con él, Hiro, Pero y Hyde como integrantes. La formación fue cambiando: en 1992 Hiro sale y entra Ken como guitarrista hasta la actualidad; en ese mismo año también sale Pero y entra Sakura como baterista hasta 1997 donde se ve obligado a salir y entra Yukihiro como miembro de soporte, que poco después fue nombrado miembro oficial de la banda y es el baterista hasta ahora.

En 1993 lanzan su álbum “DUNE” que alcanzó el número uno en las listas Indie. En 1994 firman con Sony Music y desde entonces han lanzado 36 singles y 11 álbumes con varios millones de ventas.

Su primer concierto en el extranjero fue en Baltimore, Estados Unidos en el 2004. También se han presentado en otros países asiáticos como China y Corea. En 2008 con su gira “TOUR 2008 L’7 ~Trans ASIA via PARIS~” dieron su primer concierto en Europa en París, Francia, lugar al que nunca había ido a pesar de que su nombre proviene del francés y significa “Arcoíris”

Algunas de sus canciones han sido usadas en animes como DNA2,  Full Metal Alchemist, Rurouni Kenshin, Mobile Suit Gundam 00; películas como Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, videojuegos como Devil May Cry 4 y diversos comerciales.

En 2008 se anuncia un descanso de los escenarios de 3 años, esperando su regreso para 2011.

D’ark~en~Ciel/P’unk~en~Ciel

En la época en que Sakura era el baterista, se creó “D’ark~en~Ciel”. Esta banda consistía en cambiar las posiciones de los miembros de L’Arc a:

*Vocal: DARK TETSU
* Guitarra: HYDE DARK
*Bajo: Suck.D’ark.La
*Batería: Kën D’ark

El único material lanzado de esta formación fue el B-side “D’ark~en~Ciel” del single The Fourth Avenue Café.

En el 2004 esta banda vuelve como “P’unk~en~Ciel” con Yukihiro en ella.

Las canciones de “P’unk~en~Ciel” suenan más… punk, son más rápidas y pesadas que las originales, con un tono diferente por la voz de Tetsu.
